Arkas Line expands West Africa service

9f267be181d02fa8966055a44508234b 1299106862Arkas Line has further upgraded its weekly West Africa service by adding two new vessels, the "Kemal A" and "Gisele A". The new units are replacing the "Bernard A" and "Mario A".

This additional tonnage has increases the Arkas Line-owned containership fleet to 34 and raised the capacity to 50,344 teu. The "Kemal A", with a 2,755 teu capacity and 400 reefer plugs, was handed over in China in March 2014 and will be phased in in early June. The "Gisele A", with a capacity of 2,764 teu and 400 reefer plugs, was delivered in Spain in April 2014 and is set to start operations from 20 May.

Using the Algeciras hub to/from West African ports, Arkas Line links the Black Sea and Mediterranean ports in both directions with Algeciras.
