EMES Shipping and Transport was founded in 1996 and operated the first container shipping line under the Turkish flag. In 2010, the company’s business name was changed to Arkas Container Transport S.A. and the brand name to Arkas Line. Arkas Line operates regular service between ports on the Mediterranean and the Black Sea with its fleet of 43 vessels, of which 36 vessels belong to Arkas.

Weekly feeder services between hub ports to certain ports in the Mediterranean and Black Seas are provided by EMES Feedering (established in 2008). Arkas vessels are employed on these services, which ensure the safe and rapid transfer of containers between ports in the region.

ARKAS UKRAINE LTD. is the agent of Tarros line in Ukraine since 2005. Tarros S.p.A., a niche intramed carrier specialized in intermodal container transportation, offers frequent and reliable services between East and West Mediterranean ports including North Africa.
